7yo Mare Winx was back today in wild windy conditions to win the race named in her honour the Winx stakes. Today she broke Black Caviars Australian record Streak of 25 consecutive wins (although BC was undefeated). She now has a record of 37 Starts 31-3-0 and has reached 19 group/grade 1 wins between 1300m and 2200m and has over $19,000,000 (AUD) to her name.

The Mighty Mare!

Bring her to America for the Breeder's Cup Mile at Churchill Downs!

I say this out of 100% selfishness as I won't be able to travel to OZ to see her. She owes nothing to nobody.

That won't happen, she will be trying to become the only horse to ever win the COX plate 4 times, I'm skipping my cousins wedding to see the race, I'm not all bad I will be going to the reception

I still think Black Caviar is a better horse as Black Caviar will have a 100% record. Well done on Winx on the 26th in a row

Finally, I agree 100% with magoo on something. Excellent decision making.

Hard to say Winx took some time to mature, as middle distance/stayers tend to do, while BC was an out and out sprinter, Winx has 19 G1's (World Record) BC had 15 and did win overseas (although only just and against inferior opposition than she would have faced at home). I think both have had protected careers but there is no denying they are both champions.

I thought I saw a chink in the Winx armour last year, but she came through it and continued to win, although her smallest margin she broke the track record to win the Cox plate. Yesterday's win was outstanding, at a distance that doesn't suit, she beat up on a horse Godolphin would consider there next big thing and is one of the favourites to win the Everest.

On the other hand the trainer of Hay list who you would consider a champion in any other era, said that he always though BC had only beaten Hay list when Hay List had issues, he said that he had Hay list ready to win the TJ Smith and was confident of victory, and then he and jockey Glynn Scofield we taught a lesson by BC being beaten easily.

I have BC still in front, but if winx goes undefeated this campaign, I will change my vote.

She is the best middle distance turf horse i have ever seen. Easily.

BC the best sprinter i have ever seen.

BC 1000-1400m

Winx 1600-2400m

No Hurricane fly has the record number of grade 1 wins but Winx could and should beat that in time.

I think why I am for Black Caviar over Winx is that Black Caviar race everywhere in Australia(Adelaide,Brisbane) while Winx has Raced in Sydney and the odd race in Melbourne.

I feel Black Caviar is an Australian Champ while Winx is a Sydney champ( I know 3 Cox plates are a mean effort)

I would of love a match race between Frankel and Winx
